On Instagram, MacKenzie Sol racked up a further million followers. While that doesn’t detract from his talent, it could make a huge impact on audience voting. One viewer objected on Instagram by saying:

He already has 1million IG followers. He is going to get a tons of votes just because he has a huge following. I did really love him, but I think he def has a big advantage.

Meanwhile, some American Idol fans in the comments already follow the young man on TikTok. So, he already has a built-in voter base.

  1. All contestants have the opportunity to go online and leave videos to establish a following. If this guy is vocally talented he should not be punished for trying to become a success. Let the judges and the fans decide.
