‘American Idol’ Ryan Seacrest Scares Fans With On-Stage Crash
On the Sunday night episode of American Idol, host Ryan Seacrest got a bit shaken up. During the show, he takes a tumble and scares fans with an on-stage crash.
American Idol Opens The Season Strong
In the American Idol episode on Sunday, February 18, Ryan Seacrest did a little dance of his own on set. While the new season is off to a running start, Ryan needs to watch his step! Within the first episode, contestant Odell Bunton Jr. caught the attention of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. After Odell sang the late Sam Cooke’s Bring It On to Me, the amazed judges sent him on his way with a “Golden Ticket.” When Odell was getting his dream in the audition room, his wife, Shan patiently waited outside with Ryan. However, she could hear the magical moment her husband was awarded a ticket to Hollywood. Undoubtedly, she was moved by the judges’ gift and burst into happy tears in the hallway. Eagerly, Shan and Ryan waited for Odell to finish.
Ryan Seacrest Scares Fans With His Unexpected Crash
When the American Idol judges concluded their time with Odell Bunton Jr., he emerged from the audition room to find his wife, Shan, ready to celebrate. As soon as the door opened, Shan grabbed Odell and embraced him in a huge hug. Both Shan and Odell rocked back and forth with their apparent delight. However, Ryan Seacrest wasn’t prepared for the couple’s enthusiastic squeeze. Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, Ryan pivots to dodge their happy dance.
Unfortunately, while they don’t collide with each other, Ryan tetters and tumbles into the nearby mirror instead. Undoubtedly, the crash scares the audience and gets producers’ attention alike.
Love Comes First
Following the unexpected crash, producers jump to assist Ryan Seacrest who manages to avoid falling to the ground by grabbing the wall behind him. Unmistakably, Ryan gracefully picks himself up and walks off his tumble in stride. He says, “It’s okay, love comes first.” But he moves the celebrating couple along to close the audition room door.
Ryan Seacrest Pokes Fun At The Moment
After the American Idol episode aired, Ryan Seacrest made the best of his bad footing. Although the incident was startling at the time, Ryan’s unplanned dance made its way to Instagram. Both Ryan and American Idol‘s pages shared a clip of his stumbling in action. It was captioned: “West Coast, the #AmericanIdol contestants will knock you off your feet. Tune in now 🎶.” Although it was a close call, Ryan stayed calm throughout the accident and kept the show going. But fans sent their comments to the now amusing moment.
