Katy Perry Will Say Goodbye To American Idol After Season 22
Katy Perry shook the world of American Idol last week when she announced that she planned to leave after Season 22. She has been a judge on the show for seven years and has become a fan favorite over the years. Unfortunately, Katy feels like she has reached an end to her time on Idol.

Luckily for her fans, she is planning to focus more on developing music and traveling once she has wrapped up her commitment to the show. The Dark Horse singer shared with Jimmy Kimmel that she will be a part of a large music festival in Brazil later this year called Rock in Rio.
Idol Alum Jordin Sparks Wants Katy’s Job
Long-time fans know Jordin Sparks from Season 6. She won the competition in 2007 at the age of 17, making her the youngest person to win the title of American Idol. Now, 17 years later, she says that she wants to return to the set of Idol once again. Shortly after Katy Perry announced that she would be leaving, Jordin took to social media to “put her name in the hat” for the role.
“Oh hiiii @AmericanIdol—I hear a seat opened up at the judges table! I’m putting my name in the hat!” she wrote on X.

It seems like fans are all for Jordin’s return to American Idol. “This would be amazing!” one follower wrote, while another person chimed in saying, “That would be iconic!” Several other people said that they would love to see Jordin Sparks step into Katy Perry’s spot on the show.
Jordin is more than qualified for the position. On top of her experience on the show, she has gone on to have an extremely successful music career after winning Season 6. She has released four studio albums that have produced several hit songs, including “Battlefield,” “No Air,” and “Tattoo.”
While it is still unclear as to who will be taking Katy Perry’s place on Idol, Jordin Sparks has made it known that she would love to take the job. It seems like fans would love to see her there too.

I hate to see Katy leave. She seems very genuine and down to earth. She’s beautiful but doesn’t come across as needing to always be number one and perfect in every way every second. Would love to actually meet her.
