“CPS took a voluntary dismissal and I wanted to be the first to let you guys know,” she said. “I wasn’t going to share this information. I was actually going to keep it private.” However, Jenelle Evans said she feels the need to “control the narrative” around this situation.

She went on to say that now that the case has been dropped, she wants to take time to focus on her son Jace’s mental health. Jenelle then said that someone close to the situation was already leaking information to the media, suggesting that it was either her mother or Jace’s dad.

In the video, the Teen Mom star also said that she still can’t go into much detail. This suggests that there is still a gag order in place and that they are still facing legal troubles. Namely, her husband David Eason is still facing misdemeanor and felony charges due to the alleged attack on their 14-year-old son. These charges are separate from the CPS investigation.

The MTV star wrapped up the video thanking everyone who has supported her throughout this difficult time in her life. “Now I feel like I can move on with my life,” she said to the camera.

Teen Mom Fans Weigh In On What Jenelle Said

Fans took to Reddit to discuss Jenelle’s video and their thoughts on the charges being dropped. Not surprisingly, many of them believed it to be an injustice. “Big round of applause to NCs child welfare failures,” one person wrote.

“I don’t know, I feel like there is more coming. CPS voluntarily dropping a case seems like they stepped aside at the request of another agency,” one Redditor theorized. “Maybe I am simply hoping that NC isn’t this messed up and this “voluntary drop” is for reasons we don’t know yet. Ugh.”

One fan was astounded that Jenelle Evans admitted to wanting to control the narrative. “Did she actually just say OUT LOUD ‘I need to control the narrative,'” they asked. “Always needs to control the narrative,” another wrote.

Several people pointed out that it is unlikely that their problems with CPS are over, no matter what Jenelle Evans says. One person pointed out that most CPS cases are handed up to criminal court after 30 days of investigation. “In this high profile case, I promise you it’s not over,” they wrote.
