Will Spencer Return To Port Charles In The Future?

Nicholas Chavez was cast in the role of Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital in 2021. After nearly three years of being on the daytime soap opera, he has become a beloved cast member.

Spencer has been a character on the show since 2006. Before Chavez took on the role, it was played by a number of child actors. Nicholas Chavez is taking a break from his life in Port Charles to film on another show, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. He will be playing the role of Lyle in the Ryan Murphy miniseries on Netflix.

While his absence should only be temporary, Spencer Cassadine is presumed to be dead on General Hospital and so is Esme Prince. This wouldn’t be the first time someone in Port Charles rose from the dead though. Soap operas are known for killing off well-liked characters and bringing them back, even if years have passed. So, it’s safe to say that may be the case with Chavez’s character as well.

It was reported that GH has no intentions of recasting the role of Spencer in the wake of Chavez’s absence. So, viewers can remain hopeful that they’ll see Spencer Cassadine again in the future. His arc is expected to continue when Nicholas Chavez is finished with his work on Monsters with Netflix.

General Hospital airs every weekday at 2 p.m. EST on ABC.
