Hallmark Media is rebranding two of its linear networks. Moreover, they are making a big commitment to the mystery genre. What are they revealing at the TCA Winter Press Tour presentation?

Why should Sleuthers be interested in this big news from the feel-good network?

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Will Become Hallmark Mystery

On Monday, industry publication Cablefax reported that Hallmark Media is rebranding Hallmark Movies & Mysteries to Hallmark Mystery on March 6. In addition, they will rebrand Hallmark Drama to Hallmark Family on February 28. The latter will focus on faith and family stories.

Now, Hallmark Mystery will focus on the cozy mystery series that fans know and love, as well as some mysteries that are new to the network.

Best of all, the network is already “committing to a bigger investment in mystery for the channel.”

Hallmark Media’s Programming EVP Lisa Hamilton Daly shared a statement on this big rebranding.

Hallmark Media is home to a wide range of content offerings that deliver on the promise of providing comfort and joy, and it’s our goal to ensure that viewing experiences across all networks and platforms are uniquely authentic.

We look forward to debuting the rebranded networks, where fans can continue to enjoy fun, engaging mysteries on Hallmark Mystery and wholesome family stories on Hallmark Family.

New Mysteries Kicked Off 2024

Already this year, Hallmark has kicked off 2024 with two new mysteries. The first is True Justice: Family Ties. This stars Katherine McNamara and Markian Tarasiuk, as well as Nikki DeLoach and Benjamin Ayres. DeLoach and her writing partner Megan McNulty wrote the script.

In addition, the network just premiered its first historical mystery series, The Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder At The Breakers with Ali Skovbye, Danny Griffin, and Nathan Witte.

In addition, they are premiering another new mystery at the end of the month, Crime Time: Freefall starring Lyndie Greenwood and Luke Macfarlane.

All of these new cozy mysteries have made Sleuthers hopeful for more. Now, they have their wish.

Hallmark Mystery Will Feature Christmas Movies

This major name change will affect the Miracles Of Christmas content slightly during the Christmas season. Christmas movie fans will still get to see new holiday movies, but “perhaps with a bit more of a mystery bend to some titles.”

New Mysteries Coming Soon

Hallmark Mystery will soon be premiering some fan favorites. Firstly, Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster are reunited in One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. They just completed filming this movie.

Next, Curious Caterer: Sticks And Scones is currently being filmed with Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker.

Both movies will be airing later in the year. However, what has just popped up is a new fashion mystery, Crimes Of Fashion: Killer Clutch. This stars Brooke D’Orsay and Gilles Marini, and will air Friday, March 15, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on Hallmark Mystery.

In addition, more mysteries are being developed, including a second Dancing Detective Mystery with Will Kemp and Lacey Chabert. You know where you will watch it!

Lastly, a network devoted to the mystery genre certainly opens up the possibility that the network will make a regular series like The Way Home Or When Calls The Heart.

Oftentimes, Sleuthers want to see more of a story, or they feel a movie is too rushed. An eight-episode series could expand the world and offer some new ways to tell mysteries on the network.

Sleuthers, what do you think of this Hallmark Mystery news?
