Clayton Echard Opens Up About Dark Thoughts Amid Legal Drama

A man looking sullen

Bachelor star Clayton Echard has been in the public eye recently not for his on-screen romance but due to a legal battle. The reality star is finally ready to talk about the toll it’s taken on his mental health. Keep reading for more from Clayton.

Clayton Echard Finds New Passion

Clayton Echard left Season 26 of The Bachelor single but briefly rekindled his romance with Susie Evans, who previously turned down his final rose.

The two dated for six months before going their separate ways. Shortly before their split, Clayton moved to Arizona. He became a realtor after leaving reality TV.

But that’s not his true love. During his season of the ABC show, he said that he really loved to dance but wasn’t good at it. After taking some social media taunts about his dance moves, Clayton Echard decided to hire professional help.

He’s been taking dance lessons for a while and loves showing off his progress. But he found a way to combine his passion with his day job. “Another day, another open house to sit and dance in,” he captioned a recent Instagram video of him dancing in various areas of a home he’s selling.

Bachelor Alum Opens Up About Dark Thoughts Amid Legal Drama

During his time on The Bachelor, Clayton Echard was honest about his mental health struggles. After leaving the show, he became an advocate for better mental health care.

In September 2023, the shocking news broke that Clayton was named in a paternity lawsuit filed by a woman who claimed he was the father of the babies she was carrying.

Clayton denied the paternity claim both in public and in court. After months of legal drama, the woman’s lawyers informed the court recently that she was no longer pregnant but didn’t clarify what that meant. The lawyer petitioned to have the case dismissed, but the case is still ongoing.

Now Clayton Echard is ready to tell his side of the story. In a teaser for a new episode of the Unplanned podcast, the former reality star opens up about how the court case affected his mental health.

He confesses to having “dark thoughts” amid the lawsuit. Clayton admitted he didn’t want to live anymore at his lowest moments. The full episode of the podcast drops at midnight, and he will likely go into further detail about how his mental health suffered.

What’s The Next Step In Court Battle?

The court case hasn’t been resolved yet, but Clayton Echard is already planning his next move. In the podcast teaser, he said that he plans to sue the unnamed woman for defamation once the current case is over. Clayton said that he has a lot of evidence against the woman.

He wants to be exonerated but also wants her to take accountability for what he calls false allegations.

Do you think suing her for defamation is the right move? Share your thoughts in the comments.
