A former DWTS tour crew member shares his side of the story
The 2024 DWTS tour is now underway and will run through the end of March. At the moment, Dancing With The Stars fans can follow their favorite cast members online to keep up with fun behind-the-scenes moments.
But not everyone is having a positive experience on the tour, so it seems.
Former crew member Adam Powell spoke out about his negative experience after the production ousted him.
“Walk with me for a bit. #dwts #tour #behindthescenes #wyattearp” former DWTS tour crew member Adam Powell captioned an Instagram post.
In the video, Powell expresses his frustration and adds that his firing came as a shock and a betrayal. He says he spent 11 tours working with the company. He even came to think of many of his fellow crew members as family.
“They told me I was fired. They left me literally on the curb with all my gear waiting on an Uber to take me to a different hotel and the tour bus rolled without me,” Powell explained. “That’s sometimes how it is in this business, but I did not expect it to happen to me … certainly not after making the sacrifices I made for this tour, to put this show on the road when it was not ready to go.”

DWTS fans show support for the ousted crew member online
Based on the video, Adam Powell feels infuriated. But he isn’t the only one. Overall, other Instagram users seemed pretty horrified at the situation. Several left words of support for Powell on the post.
“Adam-I have absolutely no words,” someone wrote in the comments. “You didn’t deserve to be treated this way. You have always been one of the kindest of the crew that interacted with fans. Times like this are so hard. … I am so sorry to hear this.”
“You are so unbelievably missed already and your hard work never went unnoticed by us fans,” another added. “Thank you for everything you have done for us and to make these shows what they were. Your absence is already very evident and I am so appalled by how you were treated. Praying for peace and love and only good things to come out of this. Hope to see your hard work shining through somewhere else soon.”
