Bachelor contestant Lea Cayanan was lucky and met Joey Graziadei on Charity Lawson’s After the Final Rose special. While there, she was presented with a sealed envelope that contained something that could change Joey’s season. Nobody knew what was on the card and she couldn’t open it until night one at the mansion. When she walked in with the envelope all the other ladies were nervous as well. Nobody knew what to expect. Now that the contents of the envelope have been revealed, Lea is sharing how she felt opening that game-changing card. Keep reading to find out more.

Lea talks about opening the sealed envelope

Lea Cayanan recently appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and spoke with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about opening that sealed envelope on night one. The envelope actually gave Lea the opportunity to steal any one-on-one date throughout the season that she wanted.

However, she didn’t like this idea. She believed it would put a target on her back. Plus, she wanted Joey Graziadei to want to take her on a date and not just because she sabotaged someone else’s date.

Lea admits prior to opening the envelope that she was trying to not have expectations about its contents. She was more worried about whatever was inside making the other girls hate her.

She said, “I am a girl’s girl until I die. If I saw that another girl had already met him and now has some advantage, I would be like, ‘That sucks.’ So I was scared that the girls would be mean to me.”

What she thought when she read it

Lea said when she read it her stomach dropped. She said, “When I first read the card, my stomach just dropped. I understand that this is an intense environment and a unique experience, but I never want something really difficult to change my heart, my values, or my morals.”

Lea went on to say that her mom always taught her to not steal, cheat, or hurt someone to get what you want. In the end, she couldn’t do it.

She said, “I couldn’t imagine being on the receiving end of getting ready for a date and being so excited because it was intentionally chosen for you by Joey and Joey is expecting Daisy or someone to show up and I’m like ‘Hey!’ and that’s not Daisy or whoever. It was such a double-edged sword, because if you use it, it’s an advantage because you get more time with him, but now you just hurt another woman’s feelings so badly.”

Lea was emotional about her decision. She knew she was giving up a big advantage but at the same time, she didn’t want to derail someone else’s journey.

Overall, she feels she made the right choice and it Joey did give her the first impression rose. What did you think about Lea throwing the card into the fire?
