‘Monday Night Raw’ Exits USA Network: WWE Lands New Home

News just broke via a press release from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) that Monday Night Raw will be exiting the USA Network. Furthermore, there has been a huge shake-up that involves all of WWE landing a new exclusive home. A major streaming service just struck a deal with the hopes of encouraging wrestling fans to come pouring in as new subscribers.

Understandably, this news leaves WWE fans with a lot of questions. The most prominent being: Where will they go to watch it? Furthermore, when exactly is Monday Night Raw scheduled to exit the USA network?

Monday Night Raw Exits USA Network: WWE Lands New Home

Per the press release, Netflix has struck a deal with WWE. As of January 2025, Monday Night Raw will exit the USA Network and move to its new exclusive home on Netflix. This deal is just for Monday Night Raw in the United States. In the major television deal shakeup, WWE SmackDown will move from Fox to the USA Network starting in 2025. NXT will move from the USA Network to The CW later in 2024. At the moment, the premium live events like WrestleMania will remain on Peacock streaming.

For those who live outside the United States, Netflix will pick up all the WWE programming including (but not limited to) SmackDown, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, and NXT.

The President and COO of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. issued a statement agreeing this deal will hugely benefit both WWE and Netflix. Bela Bajaria, the Chief Content Officer of Netflix, confirmed they were thrilled by the partnership in the following statement:

“By combining our reach, recommendations, and fandom with WWE, we’ll be able to deliver more joy and value for their audiences and our members. Raw is the best of sports entertainment, blending great characters and storytelling with live action 52 weeks a year and we’re thrilled to be in this long-term partnership with WWE.”

WWE Also Looks Forward To The Partnership

Nick Khan, the President of WWE, admits he’s in awe of Netflix’s “phenomenal track record” in such a “relatively short history.” Furthermore, he believes Netflix is one of the “leading entertainment brands” in the world. So, he believes the streaming giant is a perfect fit for the loyal fanbase that WWE and Monday Night Raw can bring to the table.

What WWE Fans Think Of This Move

This huge news is a lot for fans to unpack. Furthermore, fans have a lot of questions. For starters, some want to know what happens to the WWE content currently on Peacock. When January 2025 rolls around, will WWE content exit Peacock as well?

One WWE fan responding to the news points out that Monday Night Raw is a three-hour special. The individual continued “largely due to the additional advertising revenue”.  So, would Monday Night Raw be commercial-free via Netflix? Or, is the program no longer going to be three hours long because the advertisements are gone?

Unsurprisingly, many WWE fans are not happy with this decision as they don’t want to pay Netflix’s hefty streaming prices. Current Netflix subscribers, however, speculate the streaming service struck this team in an attempt to justify those hefty prices. Furthermore, some Netflix subscribers fear the streaming giant will use this to increase prices again.
