How Does Netflix’s ‘The Trust: A Game Of Greed’ Work?
Netflix is about to drop its latest reality competition. How does The Trust: A Game Of Greed work? Keep reading for all the details on your new favorite show!
When Netflix launched in 1997, it was a way to rent DVDs by mail. The company has since phased out movie rentals and leaned into creating fresh content for its online streaming platform.
However, Netflix doesn’t stick to just one genre when it comes to its content. There are blockbuster movies starring A-list actors, such as Leave the World Behind, starring Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke.

One of its most popular new series, The Night Agent, is launching Season 2 soon. The platform also has reality dating shows such as Love Is Blind and Too Hot To Handle.
The streaming giant is a great place to find adventurous reality competitions like the recent Squid Game: The Challenge based on the film.
How Does Netflix’s The Trust: A Game Of Greed Work?
The latest reality competition drops this week, but fans are already confused about how it works. What is The Trust: A Game Of Greed, and how does it differ from other reality shows?
The Trust takes eleven strangers and puts them into a villa to compete for $250,000. The money, known as The Trust, could potentially be split by all eleven contestants, but there’s a twist.
As the show progresses, the contestants learn details about their fellow villa residents that make them wonder if everyone deserves a fair share of the money.
What would a reality show be without eliminations? Viewers will find out on The Trust, where eliminating their housemates is optional.
Will greed get in the way of friendship? That’s the question on Netflix’s new show.
Unlike other reality shows, it won’t take a majority to vote someone out of the villa. In fact, it only takes one vote to kick someone off the show and out of any prize money.
So, what’s the incentive to vote someone off then? Distractify previewed Season 1 of the show and has the scoop.
“In each round, players gain access to The Vault, where they will be presented with an offer that either benefits them individually or the group as a whole,” the outlet explained.
“For example, in Season 1, one offer was presented to contestants where they could either pocket $10,000 for themselves if they vote someone off, or not vote at all and have $2,000 added to the prize pot on their behalf.”
Remember, the grand prize is $250,000, which makes leaving with just $10,000 undesirable for many contestants.
Reality show fans might think the show sounds similar to Peacock’s The Traitors, which airs Season 2 on Friday, January 12.
However, eliminations are an important part of The Traitors because there can only be one winner. There can be multiple winners of The Trust.
How To Watch, Details
Journalist Brooke Baldwin hosts Season 1 of The Trust. The first four episodes premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, January 10. New episodes drop every week for three weeks.
There are eight episodes total in Season 1.
