Leslie Fhima’s New Approach To Dating After ‘Golden Bachelor’
After a heartbreaking split from Gerry Turner, Golden Bachelor contestant Leslie Fhima has a new approach to dating. What’s changed? Keep reading for all the details.
Leslie Fhima Talks ‘Stigma’ Around Divorce
Leslie Fhima wasn’t the only divorced Golden Bachelor contestant, but she was the only twice-divorced one. While she previously said she isn’t ashamed of that, she also knows there’s a stigma surrounding divorce, especially when trying to date again.
The fitness instructor, who just turned 65, told Entertainment Weekly recently that she received DMs from many other divorcees who found her journey inspiring.
She said that she “felt the support so much.”
Leslie added, “I was shocked, because at first I thought that being divorced was a stigma, but there’s a lot of divorced women out there.”
Golden Bachelor Reunion At Gerry & Theresa’s Wedding
Leslie put her heartbreak aside to attend Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s wedding last week. The Golden Bachelor couple tied the knot on January 4, just weeks after he dumped Leslie and proposed to Theresa.
Despite that, Leslie still has love for Theresa after they became close friends while in the Bachelor mansion. She’s also clearly still close with some of the other women.
Leslie shared a selfie on her Instagram with Nancy Hulkower and Joan Vassos.
Leslie Fhima’s New Approach To Dating
Leslie Fhima told EW that she hasn’t dated since the show. However, she is open to dating in the future. When asked if she would do the Golden Bachelorette, she simply said, “Yeah, I would.”
There hasn’t been any news from ABC about the spinoff, but Leslie may have some competition for the lead role. Bachelor Nation fans think April Kirkwood has been showing interest.
Whether dating on reality TV or not, Leslie Fhima is taking a new approach to dating, and it was inspired by her experience on The Golden Bachelor.
The former professional ice skater vowed to be less “picky” and more “open” when it comes to her love life.
“I used to always want the guy that would snowboard with me and go to rock concerts with me, everything — but now I don’t need everything. I just want the most important things,” she explained.
What do you think of Leslie Fhima’s new approach to dating? Is she lowering her standards or being realistic? Share your thoughts in the comments.
