Who Is The Bachelor  Contestant Daisy Kent?

Season 28 of The Bachelor is less than a month away. Joey Graziadei, the runner-up from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette, will try to find love with one of the 32 women cast on the show.

Few shows stir up as much buzz and anticipation as The Bachelor. Each season, a group of hopeful contestants vie for the heart of one eligible bachelor, bringing with them their unique personalities, stories, and strategies to stand out from the crowd. This season, one contestant stands out above the rest: Daisy Kent.

Daisy, an account executive at a mortgage software firm, is 25, just three years younger than Joey. Originally from Minnesota, Daisy now calls San Diego, California, home.

According to Women’s Health, Daisy graduated from San Diego State University in 2021 with a degree in communications, spending some time studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain.

Why She’s One To Watch

Every Bachelor Nation contestant comes with a riveting back story. Based on her social media posts, we can guess that Daisy’s will involve her hearing loss and cochlear implant.

She began losing her hearing as a teenager. She was eventually diagnosed with Meniere’s disease, which caused her irreversible hearing loss.

As her hearing loss progressed, Daisy opted for a cochlear implant after not having success with hearing aids. She documented the experience on her TikTok, where she boasts over 40k followers, which will surely increase after The Bachelor premieres.

In addition to creating a non-profit to help children with autoimmune disorders or hearing loss, Daisy wrote a children’s book earlier this year.

Daisy Doo: All the Sounds She Knew takes readers along as the main character as she “discovers the beauty of her favorite sounds once again, thanks to a cochlear implant.”

The real Daisy shared a video on her Instagram about how the cochlear implant changed her life. She shared important information about how she had to train her brain to recognize sounds after implantation.

After getting the device implanted in March, it wasn’t activated until April. It wasn’t until five months later that she could recognize her mom and dad’s voices.

She described the other sounds she heard as “very chipmunky” at first. Daisy shared that she’s been working hard to distinguish the tones of voices.

Many people don’t realize that cochlear implants can take weeks, months, or even years to work. In some cases, they don’t work at all after implantation.

Daisy Kent isn’t the first Bachelor contestant with a cochlear implant. Season 25 contestant Abigail Heringer also has one, but she got hers at a young age.
