She Didn’t Last Long On Golden Bachelor
April Kirkwood had one of the wackiest entrances in Bachelor Nation franchise history. The therapist, 66, came out of the limo holding a basket of eggs. She told Gerry Turner that she grew up on a chicken farm, and her eggs were “very fresh.”
However, she ultimately didn’t connect with Gerry and left the show in Week 4. He will marry his final rose winner, Theresa Nist, in a televised wedding on January 4.
April Kirkwood didn’t make a huge impression on Gerry Turner, but she has on fans.
April Kirkwood Dropping Hints She’s The Golden Bachelorette?
When the idea of a Golden Bachelorette spinoff was first floated by Bachelor Nation fans in October, April Kirkwood was all in.
The release of Gerry’s scandalous past cast doubt that the spinoff would happen. A recent casting call for contestants put the idea back in play. With the likelihood of a spinoff increasing, fans are desperate for ABC to confirm the news.
But the network has remained mum, which only caused fans to create their own wishlist of possible leads. It’s likely that the first Golden Bachelorette will be someone from Gerry Turner’s season.
April’s name has been brought up again amid speculation that she’s been dropping hints. Fans took to Reddit to discuss the possible clues.
“I have a feeling that April is the GB. Her posts and videos have come more frequently and they have improved over a short amount of time,” one fan wrote in a post they created on the topic.
They added, “I also think it could be Leslie for the opposite reason. A month ago I thought it would be Joan and last week I was thinking it would be Susan. I might be wrong about all of my predictions.”

Bachelor Nation fans were divided in the comments over who should get the coveted role. Many still feel it should go to runner-up Leslie Fhima. But April Kirkwood has her supporters, too.
- I hope it’s not April but I wouldn’t be surprised. She gives off very young energy (and looks) which is why I think the show WOULD cast her. But I really enjoyed the more “normal” ladies of this past season.
