‘General Hospital’ Giving Jackie Zeman Iconic Send-Off
General Hospital is giving the late Jackie Zeman an iconic send-off to honor all she did for the long-running soap. She played the role of Bobbie Spencer for decades and was a staple and a familiar face for all fans. Now, they are recognizing the contributions she had made during her time in Port Charles. During the GH 60th Anniversary Special, Rick Springfield paid homage to Jackie Zeman. When he joined the series as Noah Drake, his character had a love affair with Bobbie Spencer. They showed a fun clip of them in the eighties and it made longtime fans reminisce. However, there was so much more to Zeman that fans wanted to honor. She passed away in May 2023 after a battle with cancer at just seventy years old and it was quite a shock. Zeman had been on General Hospital since 1977 where she stayed until 2010 then returned three years later where she remained until her passing.

Now, according to The Sun, Jackie will be honored will the proper goodbye she absolutely deserves. Starting the week of January 10th, it will come out that her character has passed away. So, that obviously means that fan favorites from the series will be coming back to say their farewells. Per People:
“Bobbie’s farewell episodes will include characters from the past and present coming together to celebrate her life.This includes Maxie (Kirsten Storms), who has had a special connection to Bobbie since she was a young girl, Laura (Genie Francis), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Scott (Kin Shriner) and Carly (Laura Wright).”
After seeing the tribute to Jackie Zeman by Rick Springfield, General Hospital fans immediately became whistful for the good ole days:
- Rip Jackie Zeeman, I loved watching her on #GH60 when I was growing up #generalhospital
- Beautiful tribute Rick. He was genuinely emotional during his segment. Too bad GH didn’t take the opportunity to have a Memoriam segment for everyone who passed away on the show similar to what the Daytime Emmy shows do. It would have been a perfect opportunity for Rick to sing.
- He really adored Jackie he’s said so many times.
Big Surprises
With a big tribute, one never knows who will show up. Therefore, anyone could surprise the residents of Port Charles to say goodbye to Bobbie Spencer. After all, she was a legend and the sister of Luke Spencer, that cannot be forgotten. Jackie Zeman was GH, that cannot be forgotten but, at the end of the anniversary special, it was revealed that Steve Burton would be returning. So, this might be the perfect moment for him to pop in.
