Mark Consuelos And Kelly Ripa Bring Up A Sensitive Topic

On the Wednesday Live With Kelly And Mark show, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos discuss a “sensitive” topic. They talked about how men are finding it to be a compliment now if they are considered “sensitive.” And Kelly was quick to say that she finds men today to be “too sensitive.” And Mark asks her if she is referring to any certain men she knows. But she dodges the question saying, “No, they’re right behind you and I don’t want to get them upset.” Then Mark follows up, “Do you think I’m too sensitive?” Kelly gently answers, “Sometimes you’re too sensitive, yes, T-O-O.” But she clarifies that he isn’t reactive to “normal” things. Given that, she offers the example, “If I say, ‘The day is cloudy.’ He’ll say, ‘I don’t control the weather.'”

Kelly Ripa Talks About The Live  Show Slowly Killing Her

After bantering back and forth about sensitivity, Mark Consuelos offers a study to make his point. He says one study found that men cry more than women per month. Admittedly, she says she, from time to time, cries in the shower where no one can hear her. Adding alternately, “Or if my face is in a pillow.” Mark says, “I think you’re less likely to cry than I am.” Both Kelly and Mark agreed that Mark is more likely to cry than Kelly.

Which led to a discussion of the Live show slowly killing Kelly Ripa. Mark and Kelly both said she is “pretty dead inside” already. In response, Kelly acknowledges, “Hosting a live talk show will do that to a girl.” Then she talks about the dredge of the work, “You just realize that people have thoughts and opinions that they want to share with you all the time.” Jokingly, she adds motioning to the lower half of her body, “And, so you just cut it off. It’s all dead in here.” Mark contributes saying, “You create that thick skin.”

Is She Ready To Retire?

While Kelly Ripa has a job sitting next to her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos, she has increasingly mentioned retirement since he joined the show. And with the stress of tuning out the public’s opinions that flood her, she toys around with new careers frequently. Although she already has a side gig of writing, she has expressed she could easily become a “party starter.” Once she realized that was a real job option, she immediately knew she had found her dream job.

Additionally, Kelly Ripa thinks being a fitness instructor could be a good pursuit for her. And in early December she spoke with Chelsea Handler about retirement as well. When talking to Chelsea she declares, “I’m finally going to, when I retire from show business, I’m going to get my college degree, and I can’t wait to go to the University of Michigan.” With her successful career, she has every right to explore the idea of enjoying life in a new and different way.
