Golden Bachelor Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner have only officially been engaged since November 30, though the actual proposal was filmed a few months prior.
What was the rush to the altar?
Both senior citizens agreed that at their age, there was no reason to wait before walking down the aisle. That’s good news for Bachelor Nation fans, who often root for couples that end up breaking up before marrying.
As a treat to viewers, Theresa and Gerry agreed to a live televised ceremony. And the show has found the perfect venue for the big event. In fact, it’s one that Bachelor Nation fans may recognize.
All The Golden Wedding Details
You’re invited to Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s wedding on Thursday, January 4, 2024. The two-hour event will air live on ABC starting at 8 PM. An anniversary special for the soap opera General Hospital airs directly after the Golden Wedding.
Theresa and Gerry both have adult children and several grandchildren. Most, if not all, of them will be in the wedding party. Theresa’s son will walk her down the aisle. Her daughter, Jen, will serve as the Maid of Honor.
Four of Theresa’s grandsons will serve as junior groomsmen, while a younger one will be the ring-bearer.
As for Gerry’s family, his two daughters and two granddaughters will join his bride-to-be’s side of the aisle as bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids.
Even some of Gerry Turner’s Golden Bachelor contestants are involved in the wedding! Susan Noles will officiate the ceremony. PEOPLE magazine reports that Kathy Swarts and Susan helped Theresa pick out her wedding dress.
Viewers may spot more Golden Bachelor contestants at the wedding as guests. Theresa previously revealed that the couple didn’t have complete control over the guest list.
Other Bachelor Nation alums expected to attend include Wells Adams and Ben Higgins. The first Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, will attend with her firefighter husband.
The wedding will take place at a La Quinta Resort And Club in Southern California that’s been featured on the show before.

Bachelor Nation shows typically film at a mansion in California. However, during the pandemic in 2020, it wasn’t logical for social distancing and other safety procedures.
So the producers took over the La Quinta Resort And Club in Palm Springs, California. The luxurious resort will also host the Golden Bachelor wedding. Hopefully Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner’s relationship doesn’t face the same fate as Clare Crawley‘s and Tayshia Adams’ did.
The U.S. Sun reports that the lavish location has 45 acres of lawns and over 40 swimming pools. Furthermore, the venue features a stunning view of the Santa Rosa Mountains.
