Conor McGregor Announces Fight Against Michael Chandler: Is He Trolling?

Conor McGregor

On December 31, 2023, Conor McGregor went to his X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce a big UFC fight against Michael Chandler. The thing is some fans think he could be just trolling. So far, Dana White and the UFC haven’t said a word.

Conor McGregor’s Announcement

Conor went to X and made a big announcement in a video. He was at a table drinking wine and said “Happy New Year to you all.” Then he said his big comeback was coming on June 29, 2024 in Las Vegas. He said that he would be righting against Michael Chandler and it would be a 185 lb. fight. This isn’t a normal weight for Chandler to fight at so that is kind of surprising. Check out the video below.

Conor said, “Ladies and gentlemen, a Happy New Year to you all,” McGregor said. “I’d like to return date for myself, the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor, the greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for International Fight Week, June the 29th… and the opponent, Michael Chandler. And the weight, Mr. Chandler, 185 pounds.” So far, the UFC hasn’t even announced a fight for the night of June 29, 2024.

What The Fans Had To Say

Of course, the Conor McGregor fans went wild. Some believe him and others think that he is just messing with everyone. Check out what they had to say below:

  • Is McGregor trolling us with this? Chandler is 5’8 and probably walks around at 175 MAX.
  • While your sitting drinking chandler is putting in the work man and it will show when you fight
  • 185. Conor making a move to welterweight for the 3 weight champ? (Obviously after the 185 bout)
  • Chandler won’t make it out of the first round.
  • The King is BACK. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year and an amazing 2024, Conor!
  • this sounds like a joke? 185lbs? @MikeChandlerMMA

The fans have been waiting for this fight since The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 came to an end. The coaches do normally fight after the show, but this one never actually happened. It would be great if it is true that Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler are going to fight now, but fans want to hear it straight from the UFC or Dana White.
