Michelle & Jim Bob Duggar’s Nephew Moves To Humble Home
Tyler Wayne Hutchins, 15, the grand nephew of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar moved into the big house in 2016. But recently, he moved into a humble home. His mom, Rachel Hutchins, the niece of Michelle ran into problems, so she couldn’t raise her boy. Meanwhile, his grandparents, John and Carol Hutchins who were taking care of him surrendered the boy to the former TLC stars. Sadly, Carol suffered a stroke and couldn’t look after her daughter’s son.
Jim Bob Duggar Opened His Home To Tyler Hutchins
Tyler probably knew the Counting On family quite well, and as the patriarch of the family had the space and the money available, he welcomed Tyler as one of his own. There might be many things that TLC fans can point fingers at but the reality TV star never seemed to try and profit off Tyler. In fact, he only appeared in a few episodes of the show.
Jim Bob Duggar never adopted his grand-nephew, and Counting On fans started to wonder if he still lived with the large family. Of course, with the arrest of Josh Duggar, TLC viewers wondered if there had been a change of circumstances. Initially, nothing happened and he remained with the family.

Counting On Fans Heard Michelle & Her Husband Lost Custody
Initial reports that Tyler moved back to his grandparents’ home got fans wondering if they would fight for the boy’s permanent custody. While it wasn’t clear that there was a fight, in the end, Jim Bob’s lawyer’s partner appeared to represent Carol and John as fit parents. Perhaps they needed the court to establish whether Carol had recovered enough to take back guardianship of her grandson.
Interestingly, Tyler moved back to his grandparents before the court case. Whilst he didn’t leave with much money in his account, Jim Bob Duggar’s grand nephew did take home a truck; not too shabby for a 15-year-old. Presumably, over the seven years that he lived with the reality TV stars, Tyler kept in touch with Carol and John. So, he would have known a downsizing in his life would come when he went back home.
A Humble Home For Michelle & Jim Bob Duggar’s Relative
The Sun reported that the court ruled for Tyler Huchins to move back to Carol and John Hutchins. They cited a court document:
We specifically consent to the appointment of his grandparents, John Martin Hutchins and Carolyn Jeanette Hutchins, as general guardians of minor child Tyler Wayne Hutchins and enter our appearance for any necessary purposes and proceedings in any court of contempt jurisdiction to be instituted for formal and legal guardianship of said child.
The outlet also reported that the home where Michelle and Jim Bob Bob Duggar’s minor relative lives now is a far cry from the massive Duggar mansion.
…he now lives in a 1,008 square-foot home in Rodgers, Arkansas, roughly 30 minutes from the Duggar family’s Springdale, Arkansas home, according to court documents. Tyler’s grandparents John and Carolyn’s home is one story and features one bathroom, Arkansas property records reveal. The home is a stark contrast to where Tyler has lived since 2016.
