‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Meghan Crumpler May Need Steroids, Why?

TLC’s 1000-Lb. Best Friends star Meghan Crumpler took to Instagram with an ominous update a few days ago. She hoped her followers and friends were having a wonderful holiday. She, however, needed to schedule a doctor’s appointment after the holidays ended.

Now, the TLC star followed up by adding that she hoped she could “stay away” from steroids following this appointment. Her statement had a lot of 1000-Lb. Best Friends fans scratching their heads. What did she need steroids for? Was something wrong with her?

1000-Lb Best Friends Meghan Crumpler May Need Steroids, Why?

Four days ago, Meghan Crumpler took to Instagram to say “Merry Christmas” to her friends and followers. Sadly, she admits she was feeling a bit under the weather. Meghan, however, did the best she could to not let being sick ruin her holidays.

The 1000-Lb. Best Friends star added that she would schedule an appointment with the doctor after the holiday season passed. She, however, was hoping to avoid getting put on any steroids.

Sharing a screenshot of her post on Reddit, fans were a bit baffled. The OP of the thread questioned: Why on earth did she think she might need steroids?

What Could She Need Steriods For?

Turns out, other fans weren’t nearly as baffled as the OP. Several fans pointed out there were lots of health issues that required steroids. Furthermore, if Meghan Crumpler had asthma, steroids are something a doctor would prescribe if she was having trouble getting over a rough upper respiratory infection.

• “Megan have you tried essential oils as a preventative? I’ve had chronic asthma since I was a baby and I have found oils to really help a lot.”
• “Sinus infection, bronchitis, severe asthma, Lupus, crohns disease, pneumonia, eczema and arthritis.”
• “My son was given steroids for bronchitis so that’s a possibility.” 
• “Super common medication, prednisone. Were you thinking she was referring to anabolic steroids by chance ? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was for a breathing issue since she seems to struggle with that .”

Why Would She Want To Avoid Them?

Unfortunately, one of the more common side effects of steroids is weight gain. Some fans speculate Meghan Crumpler may just want to avoid steroids causing problems with her weight.

Regardless of why she needs the steroids, fans hope she gets the medical help she needs for whatever is wrong with her.
