Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Slapped With $75K Lawsuit
According to The Sun, Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond was slapped with a $75K lawsuit recently. The lawsuit claims an elderly woman had an accident that resulted in a severe injury while she was at Ree’s Oklahoma store, The Pioneer Woman Mercantil.
Within the lawsuit, the woman claims she allegedly tripped over a doorstop while she was inside of the store. The fall caused her to suffer a severe injury. Furthermore, Maria believes the store owner should be footing the bill for her pain and suffering.
Lawsuit Details
Maria (the woman who filed the lawsuit) reportedly visited a shop, bakery, and restaurant owned by Ree Drummond back in November 2021. Per court documents first obtained by KTUL ABC 8, Maria reportedly tripped over a horseshoe that was installed to be a decorative doorstop.
Below is the original argument in the court documents:
The Mercantile installed a horseshoe affixed to the ground with the loop facing up, so the loop became a hidden trap, pitfall, or snare. The horseshoe was installed as a doorstop. The elderly Plaintiff was pushed so her foot got caught in the loop, she fell backward, and suffered a severe injury.”
The lawsuit argues Ree Drummond “failed” in her duty to manage and maintain her property to make sure it was in “reasonable safe condition” for the customers. Furthermore, the lawsuit argues she also failed to warn customers about the potential dangers. The dangers the customized doorstops presented to those simply walking around her property.
The lawsuit goes on to claim Maria suffered “pain of mind and body, lost the enjoyment of life, and has been disabled in her activities of daily living.” And, her lawyers believe the TV personality should foot the bill. The bill for this suffering.
As such, Maria’s legal team decided to sue the TV personality for $75K in damages for her pain and suffering.
To date, Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond has not commented or responded to requests for a comment regarding this lawsuit. Fans, however, suspect her legal team has advised her against speaking out about the lawsuit.
