After Mama June’s eldest daughter, Anna Cardwell passed away at 29, decisions had to be made about her two daughters. She left behind Kylee and Kaitlyn, both with different fathers. Kaitlyn was born when Anna was just a teenager and then she went on to marry Michael Cardwell and have Kylee. They divorced in 2017 and she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in early 2023. After her divorce, however, she started dating Eldridge Toney, whom she wed early in 2023. Once she died, Kylee went to live with her dad while June got custody of Kaitlyn.
Michael has since filed for custody of both girls as he maintains that he had a close relationship with Kaitlyn, as well. Plus, he says he pays for her school and many believe that the girls need each other during this time. Now, a Reddit thread has been started to only reinforce why Michael might be the better option. According to the OP, Pumpkin’s husband, Josh Efird was caught yelling at Kaitlyn on a live and they were appalled.
- Did anyone record it? Just hearing that it happened breaks my heart. I always liked Josh but if he was yelling and cussing at a little girl, then screw him. I really do feel bad for Kaitlyn and regardless, he shouldn’t be screaming at her cause she’s not his kid and she just lost her mother a few weeks ago.
They also added how Mama June couldn’t raise Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson and now she’s trying to do all of this with Kaitlyn. However, they are hopeful that Kaitlyn gets away from June and her husband, Justin, and is reunited with her sister. So, what did fellow Redditors have to say and did anyone catch Josh’s tirade?

More so, they were questioning why Anna Cardwell did not have a better custody arrangement in place. However, there was the question if she was manipulated by Mama June at the very end. Someone did add that Anna apparently cursed at her kids the same way so they are used to it. At the same time, it was pointed out that this is all the family knows and they shouldn’t.
