Ellen Goltzer Nearly Didn’t Make It To ‘Golden Bachelor’
Ellen Goltzer nearly missed being on The Golden Bachelor, and it was partly thanks to her friend Roberta Zaktzer, that she made it to the ABC show, At one stage, the contestant who told Gerry Turner she loved him, thought she would not even make it to the Limo Entrance What happened? Ellen Goltzer Cried When She Was Sent Home
Roberta didn’t get to watch her scenes on the show because she passed away before the premiere. Probably you remember how Jesse Palmer cried when the story of Roberta was told during the finale. Roberta was behind Ellen’s application, and it was her encouragement that saw her fall for Gerry Turner.
Ellen Goltzer talked about what Roberta would have thought when Gerry Turner sent her home from The Golden Bachelor. Well, she probably would have comforted her friend who cried when it came time to go home. However, Roberta would have been proud of the way her friend behaved on the show which nearly didn’t happen for Ellen.

Golden Bachelor Nearly A No-Show
Remember those high school days when you had a date and got a zit on your face? Well, according to an article by US Weekly, something similar happened, but you can magnify that a few thousand times. The information arrived a few days ago when Gerry’s rejected blonde spoke out on the Ben & Ashley Almost Famous podcast
Ellen Goltzer said that it was Roberta, who always said, “Never say never,” who encouraged her not to pull out when she got an abscess on her face:
I developed an abscess on my cheek, and it was three weeks before I was supposed to go. It was really like a golf ball. Roberta kept saying to me the whole time — that’s where I get this from — never say never. It cleared up enough to cover it with makeup.
Encouraged by Roberta, and tended to by a doctor who seemed keen to help Ellen ahead of the Golden Bachelor, things turned out okay. In the end, Gerry Turner broke Ellen’s heart but she hasn’t written off finding love at her age. Actually, her experience on the ABC show made her hope grow that she might still find someone special. In the meantime, her fans really hope that she might be chosen as the first Golden Bachelorette.
