Over the years, Sister Wives fans have followed the Brown family through many stages of their lives. But when Robyn Brown joined the family, there was a huge shift in the dynamic of the family that the TLC show has highlighted for eighteen seasons of their lives. Devout fans have frequently expressed that Robyn was the catalyst for much of the unraveling of the plural marriage. Likewise, fans are often weary of her “drama” as her sister wife, Christine Brown, has famously highlighted in the show. However, now fans are drawing lines between the similarities of Robyn and Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Amber Heard Enters The Conversation
While fans get frequent reminders of Robyn Brown’s dramatic flare, now a Reddit user opened a conversation comparing her to Amber Heard. As many people remember, Amber is Johnny Depp’s ex-wife. Likewise, although she is an actress, much of her name recognition came from the infamous Defamation Trial between her and her ex-husband. During the trial, there was apparent damage in the relationship between both Johnny and Amber that was being aired to the world. But Amber was often accused of over-dramatizing and having “tearless” crying during the trial.
Undoubtedly, the trial came during a politically and socially sensitive time in the United States. When Amber came forward, she aligned with the “Me Too” movement which caused a lot of friction when there was debate on whether she was being victim blamed or lying about abuse. During the trial, she received a lot of backlash as evidence kept coming forward that made her story hard to believe. And the jury unanimously voted that Amber was guilty.

On Reddit, the user posted a thread that said, “Does Robyn remind anyone else of amber heard when she tries to squeeze out tears?” Afterward, several people gave their thoughts:
- One person quickly jumped on a circulated joke during the trial, “😂… someone should check the bed for turds...”
- “YES!!!”
- One played on a statement Amber Heard had made, “My dog stepped on a bee!!” This was followed by another person using the same idea to relate to Robyn Brown, “Kody stepped out on his other wives for me!”
- Also borrowing from Amber’s trial days, “By now we should have several mega pints full of Robyn’s tears… yet.. it’s like the Sahara Desert up in here.”
- “Robyn can only dream of being as convincing as Amber Heard.”
- “That’s because one of them is an actress and the other just pretends to be.”
- “Yes. So over the top dramatic. She looks up then looks at the camera begging people to believe her. I’ve yet to see a single tear fall down her cheek. Such a drama queen! Thank you Christine😂😂😂 She kills me 🤦🏻♀️.”

Although the majority of Reddit Sister Wives fans’ opinions agreed that both Robyn Brown and Amber Heard are publically very dramatic, some people didn’t. One user completely disagreed with the comparison.
- “No. On account of Amber Heard having survived an abusive marriage, and Robyn the neck that turns her husband’s head.” To which the original poster clarifies, “Actually i was just comparing their faces.”
- And someone else said, “Amber deserves peace after the internet tore her apart for speaking against abuse.”
