Have Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird and her youngest sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson started selling death merch? The two own their own online store and even recruited holiday help. Yet, it appears that they may be trying to monetize off of their sister, Anna Cardwell’s untimely passing. Read on for more details.

Pumpkin & Honey Boo Boo Openly Selling Death Merch?

Recently, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird and Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson opened up their own online boutique. It is called The Sisters Closet and they sell everything from blankets to cups to laptop cases to candles and more. Right now, this has been a tough time for the entire family as they are currently mourning the loss of their eldest sister, Anna Cardwell. She succumbed to stage 4 adrenal carcinoma on December 9th and left behind a husband and two young daughters. Pumpkin recently went on TikTok to share how she feels so lost but is still so mixed in her emotions.

Fans of the family feel that they all need to take a step back from social media, especially Mama June. Yet, they also believe she struggles in doing so because she is all about money. Now, it appears that has never been more true, especially when it comes to Pumpkin and Alana. As a new part of their small business, the sisters have started to sell holiday ornaments in honor of Anna. However, they are not a simple dove or a sweet symbol but so much more. It is a family photo, seemingly from her secret wedding to Eldridge Toney early in 2023.

It is part of the FOREVER ANNA collection and there are two different ornaments. Though the photo is the same on both, one is filled with blue glitter and the other is more iridescent. They retail for $15 and this is the site description:

“Honor the memory of our beloved Anna with Remembrance Freshie. A tribute to a life cut short, proceeds go towards supporting her family and a worthy cause. Keep her memory close.”

Pumpkin and Honey Boo Boo do not say what this “worthy cause” is but it has only been a week since Anna passed. Is it too soon?

The Business of Sisters

Followers of Pumpkin and Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson were already skeptical of this business to begin with. Since Alana was away in Colorado at school, Pumpkin had to recruit some help. However, she wanted part-time with the ability to work overtime. One fan had this to say after the posting went up:

  • “‘Willing to work overtime and weekends’ basically means we’ll schedule you about 20 hours if you’re lucky but you’ll never know what days you’ll be off and the schedule will get posted late and don’t count on getting all your money.”

Now, Alana is home for winter break and to mourn her sister but they are using their forum to profit off of Anna’s passing. Mama June is on TikTok live getting gifts and now they are selling ornaments. Is it too much or is this just who they are?
