A lot of Land Before Time fans were scared when they saw a Facebook post about Disney and Pixar remaking the beloved animated movies. The poster even included a January 2025 release date. Is this really happening?
How Did The Land Before Time News Come Out?
As many people woke up on Wednesday, Dec. 13, they were shocked to see a Facebook post. It shared Disney and Pixar were remaking the beloved classic The Land Before Time. The inclusion of the release date further concerned fans. While many commented that a remake wasn’t needed, the majority of people took to social media to complain about the graphic quality. They do not have the same quality that fans are used to.
It’s worth noting that The Land Before Time is a Universal Pictures movie rather than Disney or Pixar. The first movie went to theaters, with sequels heading straight to video. Disney and Pixar never had any involvement in the franchise before this. This would mean a takeover of the rights. While that could happen, it is unlikely. Disney and Universal are two big studios without the need to buy rights from each other’s movies.
Is a Land Before Time Remake Happening?
Snopes took a look at the possibility of this happening. It really only took a look at the Facebook page the poster came from to see if it was real or not, and that was YODA BBY ABY. The account makes it very clear in its own bio that all news is fake and the account is for satire purposes only. This has happened before with news about Macaulay Culkin. There were reports of him coming to a Home Alone continuation called Cabin Alone. This was also a false report.
The Land Before Time remake is not happening. Disney and Pixar show no signs of looking to take over the dinosaur franchise, so loyal fans can rest easy for the night. Pixar isn’t known for doing remakes of beloved classics, and instead opts for sequels of its own older movies, such as Toy Story. Pixar also creates a lot of original content based on the releases of Soul, Onward, and Elemental in recent years. There has even been a dinosaur movie called The Good Dinosaur, which Pixar could add a sequel to instead of doing a remake.
