Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell was confirmed dead at the age of 29. She passed away on December 9th. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. Tragically, the same day that Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell passed away was also her youngest daughter, Kylee’s, 8th birthday. This piece of information has broken fans’ hearts as they aren’t sure how Kylee will ever be able to celebrate her birthday the same knowing it was also the day her mother Anna passed away.

Tragically, Kylee’s life will never be the same. After losing her mother, she also lost her father figure Eldridge Toney. As fans have recently learned, it was Anna’s wish that Kylee would go live with her biological father, Michael, after Anna passed away. Sadly, Kylee is also losing her sister as Michael is NOT the biological father of her older sister Kaitlyn.
Shockingly, fans have learned that Mama June Shannon has stepped in to take care of Kaitlyn after her mother passed away. Mama June is reportedly petitioning the court to become the official legal guardian of Kaitlyn as well. This was a decision the family agreed with as Kaitlyn and Mama June were especially close. Likewise, Mama June claims to have a special bond with her as she was her very first grandchild.
Fans Criticize The Situation
Unsurprisingly, fans have all sorts of problems with the custody arrangements. For starters, they don’t think the girls should be split up. Michael should have taken both of the girls or they should have remained in the care of Eldridge Toney.
Furthermore, fans argue that there is no way Mama June Shannon is the best option for Kaitlyn. At the very least, fans believe she should have gone to Pumpkin as Pumpkin stepped in to take care of Alana when Mama June couldn’t.
