Fans anxiously awaiting the return of Gold Rush White Water just got some good news. The popular Discovery Channel reality TV show is on its way back and should be here in just over two months.

Here is a look at the Gold Rush White Water return date and what you can expect from the new season.

Gold Rush White Water release date

The last season of the popular spinoff series ended on June 9, 2023. This was an interesting season, as it was actually part of season 6 until Discovery Channel stopped that season midway through and kept it on hold for three months before finishing it as a “new” season when it returned. This also put off the new season until later than usual.

Gold Rush White Water has premiered in either December or November since the second season of the show. After season 1 premiered in January 2018, the rest has stuck to a mostly late-year schedule. Seasons 3 through 6 all premiered in November. However, with November gone, many fans began to worry that last season’s problems might have ended the show.

The good news is that is not the cast. The official Facebook page of the late Dakota Fred revealed today that the new season will premiere on February 16, 2024 (subject to change). According to Hurt’s page, this news came from a “reliable source.” There is also some more big news. There will be a tribute special for Dakota Fred.

The original cast member died on July 11, 2023, at 80 following a four-month battle with brain cancer.

What to expect from Gold Rush White Water season 11

As the Dakota Fred Facebook page said, there will be a special dedicated to the OG cast member coming soon. Dakota Fred, who was the main cast member from the first season on, died earlier in 2023 just four months after learning he had brain cancer. Fred had been on TV gold mining in Alaska for 10 years.

The new season of Gold Rush White Water will obviously be without Dakota Fred, but his family should still be on it. One person who won’t return to the new season is Kayla Johanson, who quit the Discovery reality TV series. Kayla said the drama between the miners pushed her out of the show. She also felt that there wasn’t enough successful mining on the series.

“I can’t keep following someone else around with way less than satisfactory results each year while dealing with unnecessary amounts of drama,” she said at the time.

  1. As a rookie miner myself, I would be happy with any changes as long as they keep to show going. I’ve learned a lot of techniques watching Dustin and his crew work, and hope they press on, the “mother load” is still out there.
