What was Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s final request before she passed away on Saturday, December 9th? The twenty-nine-year-old eldest child of Mama June Shannon sadly lost her cancer battle. Yet, there was one more thing she wanted before she headed to heaven. So, what was it? Read on for more details.

Anna Cardwell’s Final Request Before She Passed

When Anna Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in early 2023, no one could believe it. Her mother soon moved from Alabama to Georgia to be with her. She needed to be taken to appointments and such plus she had two little daughters. Though she had good and bad days, it was her family who really rallied around her. When it came to their show, Family Crisis, Anna stayed away from reality television. However, she did return for Mama June’s wedding shower/engagement party. Then, she helped walk her mom down the aisle along with her three sisters.

Sadly, in the season finale, Anna called her sisters, Pumpkin and Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson to tell them she had cancer. That was where the season ended and Mama June eventually shared the cancer was terminal. Anna talked about the legacy she wanted to leave for her children and just last week, it seemed she had taken a turn. Though she finished her last round of radiation, the family was going on their last trip, per Anna’s request, to Gatlinburg. Then, the family started to ask for prayers, and by last night, at 11 pm, she was gone.

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson took to her TikTok and tried to hold it together. She was able to make it home to Georgia from Colorado to be with Anna Cardwell. Alana was grateful her sister waited for her and shared that, prior to passing, Anna had a request. She asked for a steak so Pumpkin and Alana headed to the store to get that steak. They did not care if she ate it or not, they wanted to fulfill her needs. Ultimately, they did not cook the steak as they decided to spend time with Anna instead.

Why She Spoke Out

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson explained that she chose to speak out on Anna Cardwell’s passing for one reason. She knew people would ask where her sister was and felt this was only right. This has been extraordinarily hard for her but Alana is grateful Anna knew she finished her first semester of college. Though she wishes she could have watched her finish, she knows her sister is watching over her.

What do you think of Anna’s final request? Is that the best memory she could leave her family with, having a big and hearty appetite even in her last moments? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
