‘Welcome To Plathville’ Fans Predict Lydia Plath Engagement Soon
At the end of Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville, Lydia Plath announced that she’s been secretly dating a man for a while. And, it’s not Moriah’s ex-boyfriend, Max Kallschmidt. Remember, when they split, TLC fans saw her ask Moriah if she could stay in touch with her ex. The new man is religious and her parents thoroughly approve of him. Now, fans wonder if they plan to get engaged and marry soon.
Lydia Plath Went For A Religious Man
Out of all the kids in the Plath family, Moriah’s younger sister seemed the most devoted to God. TLC fans saw that she spent a lot of time in her prayer closet, and she confessed about a new boyfriend in Season 5 after she had spent more time there. In her confessional, she talked about privacy while they navigated their relationship. From the tone of it, she seems to have decided that he’s the one for her.
Finding a boy seemed difficult for Lydia Plath. At the age of 17, when her mom discovered that she was texting a boy, she had it out with her parents. That’s because Kim Plath freaked out. Angry fans watched as Barry and his wife finally relented and allowed their daughter to make a few decisions for herself. Now that she found the right man, TLC fans wonder if the Welcome to Plathville star will soon be engaged to get married.
Welcome to Plathville – Will Lydia Soon Be Engaged?
After the boyfriend was revealed at the end of Season 5, TLC fans took to Reddit to discuss the possibility that Ethan’s younger sister might soon marry her boyfriend. That’s because, in the confessional, she raved about how awesome he is.
He is amazing, just an amazing man of God…It’s more beautiful than I could have imagined. We wanted to keep it private, just to grow in our relationship, to make sure we’re steady and firm…
For now, she keeps his face hidden, but fans suspect that is because she doesn’t want to give away spoilers for Season 6. On Reddit, the OP wrote:
I know that this episode had way more to talk about this week, but I hadn’t seen [t]his mentioned yet. Lydia seemed pretty pleased with herself to drop her bombshell confession that she’s (drumroll) dating someone. Honestly I would have been less shocked if she had just announced that she was marrying this “man of god.”
In the discussion, many TLC fans agreed that engagement and marriage seemed very likely. Perhaps, as soon as next year.

One Welcome to Plathville fan talked about how they were sure that Lydia and her boyfriend were together during the summer. And, they probably still date. There is some speculation that they dated all summer when Lydia joined a revival mission.
