Charity Lawson’s Brother Slams ‘DWTS’ Fan Base
Charity Lawson didn’t have an easy time on Season 32 of DWTS. The judges were harsh, but were the fans harsher? Keep reading to find out why Lawson’s brother slammed the Dancing With The Stars fan base.
Charity Lawson Supports Gerry Turner After Shocking Accusations
As an alum of ABC’s top dating show, former Bachelorette Charity Lawson knows about being under the microscope. The network launched a senior dating version of the Bachelor franchise that just wrapped its first season.
72-year-old widower Gerry Turner was plucked from his small town in Indiana and thrown to the wolves of reality television.
A bombshell article released ahead of the Golden Bachelor article almost took the bloom off Turner’s Golden Rose. An ex-girlfriend made several shocking allegations involving fat-shaming, control issues, and more.
But most notable is the fact that Gerry Turner even had a long-term ex-girlfriend after claiming on the show that he hadn’t dated seriously since his wife died in 2017. Click here to read what Gerry Turner had to say about the allegations.
Charity Lawson spoke to Life & Style ahead of the Dancing With The Stars season finale. She defended Turner, saying everyone on reality shows “were all people before we stepped into this arena.”
Despite being in couples therapy, Lawson and her fiance, Dotun Olubeko, were in the audience of the Golden Bachelor After the Final Rose special last week.
Charity Lawson’s Brother Slams Dancing With The Stars Fan Base
Olubeko has also been supporting Charity Lawson through her Dancing With The Stars journey. That journey came to an end on December 5 when a winner was chosen.
The Bachelorette alum and pro partner Artem Chigvintsev came in fourth place. After the loss, viewers expressed outrage over judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s scoring.
However, it turns out that Charity Lawson has been dealing with something much worse than low scores. Her brother posted on Instagram accusing some of the DWTS fan base of sending Lawson “unwarranted hate” during the competition.
Lawson’s brother didn’t get into specifics about the unkind messages. Instead, he focused on how Charity Lawson rose above the “negativity” and still performed her best.
“She is literally Wonder Woman. Captain Marvel. Super girl,” Nehemiah Lawson gushed over his sister.

Of course, I don’t know her personally, but having seen her on the Bachelor/ette and DWTS, I do have to say she can come across as arrogant. Her brother speaking out AFTER she lost is not a good look. I wonder if he would have said the same thing had she won.
Yes I Agree I thought the same thing she attempts to be a little arrogant, That being said, I felt like at times she felt like she was already the winner. I’m glad it ended where it ended. And these are pro judges. If they felt she needed judging or she didn’t earn a particular score, then so be it. Maybe she should just go home and work on her relationship.
i definetly thought charity an artiam should have won she was so good its a shame carrie anne was so against them please replace her an charity in my heart u are a winner i voted for u every week
She comes across as arrogant. Carrie Ann was not harsh or hard on her. She was just as fair judging her as the others. Her freestyle was not a Dace but a great cheer competition. This was a dance competition. The best person won and the best person came in 2nd.
I agree with you
