Gerry Turner, the 72-year-old widower looking for a second chance at love, tugged at the audience’s heartstrings. He said many times that he hadn’t been in a relationship or dated anyone seriously since his wife died in 2017.
However, a bombshell report came out days before the season finale about a woman Turner dated and lived with shortly after his wife’s passing.

Gerry Turner had to choose between Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima during the season finale. While fans had thoughts on his choice, they didn’t like how he let the other woman down.
Fans Disappointed In Gerry Turner After Golden Bachelor Finale
As you probably know by now, Gerry Turner sent Leslie Fhima home and proposed to Theresa Nist. They aren’t wasting any time heading to the altar, as ABC is already planning a televised wedding special.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their reaction to the brutal breakup between Turner and Fhima.
The retired restaurateur visited the fitness instructor in her hotel room and chatted with her about their journey together. However, Fhima felt something was off and asked him more than once if there was anything he wanted to tell her. Each time, he had nothing to say.
But after leaving her room, he quickly returned to tell her that she wasn’t his final rose choice. Fhima was blindsided and obviously heartbroken, as were viewers.
At the start of the season, Gerry Turner was called wholesome and genuine. But after seeing him dump Leslie Fhima, some fans expressed their disappointment. There were several tweets comparing Turner’s immaturity to that of a teenage boy or a 20-something.
