1000-Lb. Sisters fans have taken to various social media platforms with disgust directed at how TLC producers are treating Tammy Slaton. Furious fans are in agreement the network is exploiting Tammy for the sake of good ratings. Was there something specific that happened to set fans off recently? Fans Disgusted As Tammy Slaton Exploited For TLC Ratings
A new trailer for the upcoming season of 1000-Lb. Sisters was dropped by TLC recently. The comments featured Tammy returning home from rehab and spending time with her sister.
In the comments, fans had an impossible time enjoying any of the positives in the trailer. They were hyper-focused on the fact that TLC filmed Tammy Slaton’s husband’s funeral. In the comments, they proceeded to rip production and the network. They noted it was a GROSS invasion of privacy. Fans agreed TLC should have left Tammy alone to grieve the death of her husband in privacy.
Several 1000-Lb. Sisters fans admit they REFUSE to watch the episode featuring Caleb’s funeral. These fans explain they will not give TLC the ratings they hoped for by recording this tragic moment in Tammy’s life.
Sadly, fans were also told that TLC did a bit of staging during the funeral and made it a fairly unpleasant experience for Tammy and her family. On TikTok, Tammy Slaton even admitted that TLC being at the funeral made the whole service a great deal sadder than it would have been otherwise.
Unfortunately, TLC thought it would be better for ratings if she was mourning his passing as opposed to celebrating his life.

Exploiting Amy Slaton Too
Now, fans don’t believe this exploitation is limited to Tammy Slaton. They also accuse the network of exploiting Amy Slaton as well. Sadly, Amy’s marriage crumbled shortly after she welcomed her second child into the world. Furthermore, fans suspected something was wrong with Michael didn’t seem to be helping his wife much as she struggled to manage two children.
While fans are happy Amy Slaton left him to find something better, they are also heartbroken. They dislike that TLC will broadcast this difficult time in Amy’s life on the series for the sake of a good storyline.
Sadly, most fans are not too surprised TLC seems to be exploiting Tammy Slaton and her sister Amy for ratings. After all, this is something the network has done for years with several different families. As Tammy continues to make progress with her weight loss, however, fans are finding themselves feeling extremely protective of her and her feelings. Furthermore, they just aren’t happy with the way the network is doing things right now.
