Where Is Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar’s Nephew, Tyler, Now?
Jim Bob Duggar and his wife Michelle had Tyler Hutchins move in with them in 2016. If you don’t know, he’s the son of Michelle’s niece, Rachel Hutchins. However, she wasn’t able to care for him due to poor finances and a criminal case against her. Recently, it was revealed that the teenager purchased a car.
Jim Bob Duggar Never Adopted Tyler
Counting On fans did spot Tyler on the TLC show a few times before it was canceled. In 2018, fans saw him helping Jana in the kitchen. Plus, he made it in front of the cameras a few more times. Initially, people were puzzled over who he was. But, as he became involved in family activities, he became just one more of many children. He celebrated his 12th birthday in 2020, and already it seems that the teen owns a car.
Some Counting On fans wondered if Jim Bob Duggar would adopt the boy. However, that never happened. Tyler Hutchins lived with his grandmother for a while, but her health turned for the worse after a stroke So, he went to live with the Counting On patriarch who got guardianship. Recently, the news that Tyler dropped money on a car came through submissions of financials regarding the boy.

Jim Bob Duggar Lost Guardianship Of Tyler Hutchins?
Each year, an Annual Report of Guardianship was submitted by Michelle and her husband. They did so in 2021 and that proved to mystified fans that Tyler pretty much had become part of the family. However, a lot of people wondered if the arrest and trial of Josh Duggar might change things.
Apparently, Jim Bob Duggar lost custody of Tyler. The news broke via the Duggar Family News: Life Is Not All Pickles & Hairspray Facebook page. In September, TLC fans heard that the boy went to live with his grandparents, John and Carolyn Hutchins. Apparently, the Counting On patriarch handed him over, but he still needed to account for his annual financial report.
Tyler Hutchins Owns A Car
The Sun reported this week, that the new annual filing revealed that Tyler has only “$231.64 in his bank account.” Furthermore, the $7K that was previously there had gone. The outlet noted:
Tyler owns a 2007 Chevy Duramax valued at $8,500.
In the filing, Jim Bob Duggar made it clear that he hasn’t ever profited off being the guardian of his grand nephew. Additionally, it seems that the Counting On parents don’t object to Tyler living with his grandparents.
