The point of The Bachelor franchise shows is to find love with just one person. However, many leads wind up having feelings for multiple contestants, and Gerry Turner is no different.
The first-ever Golden Bachelor struggled to choose between his final four. After deep consideration, he sent Ellen Goltzer home, leaving Theresa Nist, Faith Martin, and Leslie Fhima as his final three.
Turner visited each of the final three women’s hometowns to form stronger connections, which once again breaks his heart when he has to send one of the three home.
Bachelor Nation viewers don’t know yet which of the two women remain in the competition. But we’ll find out during this week’s Women Tell All special. In the preview clip, Gerry Turner apologizes to the woman he sent home, but her face isn’t shown.
Many Bachelor Nation fans couldn’t believe that Turner sent Goltzer home instead of Nist. They shared their disbelief on social media.
Ellen Goltzer Opens Up About Her Love Life After Golden Bachelor
However, fans shouldn’t feel bad for the 71-year-old retiree. She doesn’t regret her time on The Golden Bachelor. In fact, it gave her hope again that she would find love in her golden years.

After her divorce a few years ago, Goltzer moved from the New York City area to Delray Beach in Florida. She spoke with The Palm Beach Post after her elimination. If she had been granted a hometown date, what would she have done with Gerry Turner?
“There’s a lot of nature preserves in Delray that are just incredible. The birds and alligators. (It’s) a great place to walk and just talk to him,” she said of her new hometown.
The outlet asked Goltzer if she had a newfound understanding of why she was eliminated. In hindsight, she said, “I don’t see myself in that bubble. I see a commonality between the three and what he’s looking for.”
Despite heart break, Ellen Goltzer refuses to give up on love. She hasn’t been on any dates since the show, but she’s had offers.
“There’s been a lot of reaching out. “I know someone who would be great for you.” “My brother would love to date you.” All of these different avenues,” – Ellen Goltzer, The Palm Beach Post.
However, she doesn’t plan to rekindle anything with her former flames who have reached out. “It was a good experience, but no availability. Just friendship,” she said of her exes.
