‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Reveals New Business Venture

For 24 seasons, Mike Wolfe, with the help of Frank Fritz, toured America looking for lost gems. While American Pickers gained a massive following, the show seemed to fizzle after tensions between Fritz and Wolfe escalated. With Fritz no longer a part of the show, Wolfe continued to keep the series afloat. But it appears that the end might be near for American Pickers as Wofle recently revealed a new business venture of his that already set him back a whopping $600,000.

American Pickers has entertained fans since 2010, so it makes perfect sense that Mike Wolfe would want to expand his future and step away from the show. While rumors of his retirement circulated since Fritz left, he hasn’t made any official statement. A source close to him noted,  “I don’t know how long the show will last. I don’t know how long Mike and Robbie want to do this. I think they would like to retire at some point. It’s been 12 years.”

Too Much Time On The Road

Giving some more insight into the filming process, the source admitted that while Mike Wolfe loves to meet people and find treasures, the amount of time on the road makes it impossible to control other aspects of his life. “They’ve done this a long time. When they’re around it’s, ‘Ah we’re on the road again. I ain’t got time to do this, I ain’t got time to do that.’” They added, “It’s a love-hate like with any job. Some days you don’t wish you had that job and you could do whatever you wanted. Some days you’re all excited about your job.”

Currently, Mike Wolfe operates numerous companies like his Antique Archaeology which has two actions. And there is also his Village Bike in Iowa where he once taught a safety course for cyclists. If that wasn’t enough, Wolfe also dabbles in real estate.

Mike Wolfe Getting A Little Hungry

Now, with hints of his retirement from American Pickers, Mike Wolfe revealed he purchased a small property with the intent of transforming it into a pizza parlor. Although the property is currently under construction, a source gave a glimpse as to what the final project might look like. “It’s going to be a restaurant. They are going to sell pizza, soda, that kind of stuff. Construction workers are building a stage for karaoke, a fire pit and a pergola in front of the building.”

Sharing a post on his Instagram, Mike Wolfe caught workers already transforming the space. he wrote, “It’s time to choose plants for the 1940s Esso Station Courtyard project. This property will have an intimate unique experience In the heart of @visitcolumbia TN Historic District.”
