Ana Navarro Is Tired Of Talking About ‘The Golden Bachelor’
The View host Ana Navarro is over The Golden Bachelor. Last week, she even begged producer Brian Teta to stop making her talk about it.
The Golden Bachelor premiered in September and focuses on senior dating. This Bachelor Nation show follows 72-year-old widower Gerry Turner as he searches for the second love of his life in a group of 22 women over 60.
Why Doesn’t Ana Navarro Like The Golden Bachelor?
In an earlier episode of The View, Ana Navarro said that she doesn’t like dating shows. She simply doesn’t like the idea of people competing for love. Later, she said that although she doesn’t watch the show, she has read enough articles about it. All the articles she’s seen about the show talk about dating after the age of 50 and imply that it’s old age. As a woman in that age group, she finds the implication appalling. Co-host Sunny Hostin was also quick to add that over a third of Americans over 50 are divorced. With those statistics, the idea of older people dating shouldn’t be so surprising.
How Do The Rest Of The View stars feel about The Golden Bachelor?
Part of the purpose of The View is to bring differing opinions on hot topics to the table. This Golden Bachelor business is no exception. Co-host Sunny Hostin stated that she found the whole thing disappointing. She also felt that it made the women seem “thirsty.” Although they have the same opinion about the show, Hustin likes to poke fun at her co-host. When Navarro begged to stop talking about it, she suggested that they invite the Golden Bachelor himself, Gerry Turner, back for another interview. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg piped up to jokingly suggest that they do it on Friday- her day off. Judging by how she covered her face after watching a clip, it seems that Goldberg isn’t a fan of the show either.
Co-host Sara Haines has stated in a few episodes that she’s obsessed with all the Bachelor Nation shows. For her, this series is a big hit. After Navarro asked how long they’d have to keep talking about it, Haines joked that there should be a viewing party just to make her watch it. Co-hosts Alyssa Farrah Griffin and Joy Behar don’t seem to have any strong opinions. Neither had any negative comments about it, but they certainly weren’t as excited about it as Haines.
Do you think Ana Navarro is being too dramatic about The Golden Bachelor? What do you think of the series? Is Gerry Turner falling in love too quickly? Please give us your thoughts in the comments!
