‘On Patrol: Live’ What Is Deputy Bryce Hughes’ Real Name?

Deputy Bryce Hughes is the name of a sergeant out of South Carolina’s Richland County Sheriff’s Office. She made her debut on television during Season 4 of LivePD and then went on to appear on episodes of On Patrol: Live.

A few days ago, one fan of On Patrol: Live got a good look at the name tag and noticed something a bit strange. Her uniform did NOT say “B. Hughes” as the fan expected it to. Instead, her name tag said “I. Hughes.”

This discovery left the fan scratching their head. What exactly did the “I” stand for? More importantly, was Bryce not her real first time? Hoping for answers, the On Patrol: Live fan took to Reddit with a screenshot showing the discovery. The fan proceeded to ask if anyone knew what the “I.” stood for.

Per LivePD‘s website, Deputy Bryce Hughes kicked off her career in 2018 when she graduated from South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Deputy Hughes has been a part of Richland County’s Community Action Team since shortly after she graduated. It wasn’t until just last month (October 23) that she got promoted to sergeant.

According to chatter on Reddit from a few days ago, this On Patrol: Live fan’s discovery was not new. Turns out, this is something that has come up on the subReddit dedicated to the show more than a few times.

Fans proceeded to explain that “Bryce” was actually her middle name. She, however, has explained a few different times that she prefers to go by her middle name. The “I,” however, does stand for her legal first name.

I just noticed that Master Deputy Hughes’ vest says ‘I. Hughes’, which makes me wonder if her first name is really ‘Bryce’. Any guesses on what the ‘I’ stands for?

Going a bit deeper into the thread, several fans add that her real first name is Irene. Unfortunately, the OP did get a pretty hefty amount of heat for asking a question that has previously been answered several times.

She’s Active On Social Media

For On Patrol: Live fans who enjoy watching Deputy Bryce Hughes on the show, she is fairly active on both Instagram and Twitter. On Instagram, her posts tend to involve more personal aspects of her life including her boyfriend and her furbabies. On Twitter, however, her posts tend to be directed more toward On Patrol: Live fans.

Just this week she took to Twitter to thank fans of On Patrol: Live for all of the love and support they’ve shown her on social media.

She penned in her tweet: “I’ve been so overwhelmingly blessed with support that I’ve exceeded my like limit for the day! Thank you so much to everyone in #OPNation for you your support!I will never be able to show everyone as much gratitude as I have for your support but please know that I’m so thankful”
