Fans wonder, what would The View be like without Whoopi Goldberg? Although Whoopi was not on the original panel, she has been there as a long-standing member. There have been talks about Whoopi considering retiring. Notably, she also takes off on Fridays already. But Joy Behar gives details about replacing Whoopi during The View: Behind The Table podcast with producer Brian Teta.

Discussion Of Whoopi Goldberg’s Inevitable Retirement

Fans of The View have suspected the longtime talk show host, Whoopi Goldberg will soon leave her role as moderator and her co-hosts after sixteen years. As retirement rumors swirl on the Internet, Whoopi tells what her thoughts are on the matter. Whoopi’s update on Tuesday, October 17th says, “I’ve done nothing but retire. I’ve been retired my whole career, so I kind of like that, yeah. I have a contract. As long as I’m doing the contract, nobody’s mad.”

However, Whoopi Goldberg actively takes off from The View on Fridays. Given that, she can consider herself retired but still have the flexibility to pursue other opportunities. Whoopi added, “But I’ve been off on Fridays for years now because when we did that normally, I’d go to work and do shows or do whatever because I could travel on a Friday.”

Looking At Other Opportunities

Recently, the Shark Tank cast appeared on The View. With that, Barbara Corcoran expressed their desire to have Whoopi Goldberg join as a guest. Sara Haines promoted it, “You have a lot of great guest sharks this season, but I heard you really pushed for someone we know to be a guest shark on the show.” Confirming, Barbara Corcoran says, “That would be Whoopi. No one would argue with me. She tells it like it is.” Seemingly reluctant, Whoopi says, “Look, I love this show,” and pushes the idea it would take a big paycheck to convince her.

Who Would Replace Whoopi Goldberg?

While on The View: Behind The Table, Joy Behar reveals she believes Whoopi Goldberg should join Shark Tank as an investor. Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran has expressed Whoopi Goldberg would be a good fit. If Barbara convinces Whoopi to become an investor, Joy gives her opinion on who would be a good replacement on The View. Brian Teta asks during the podcast, “Which of the hosts do you think would be the best [investor]? Who’s got the most acumen?”

“Probably Sunny,” Joy Behar says. Notably, she points out, “She’s strict. She has ideas for a few shows. Yeah, I think she would be the best.” Agreeably, Brian says, “That’s true, she would be the best.” Seemingly, they agree Sunny Hostin is the go-to next moderator if Whoopi Goldberg leaves.

  1. I am not sure that the entire group on that show have the intellect to appear on it. Who in the lord’s name ever convinced the producers that Joy Behar’s opinion was of interest to anyone – she’s just an obnoxious mouthpiece that likes to talk, hates the republican party, and dominates every discussion on the program. Sara Haines is what we expected, a dizzy blonde that can’t make a coherent argument on any topic. Sonny Hostin is obviously very impressed that she has a law degree. I am glad that she is impressed with this, but I have known a large number of lawyers in my time that weren’t very bright or logical. She fits right in the group!!
