Katie Thurston Spills More Juicy Details About Her ‘Bachelorette’ Season
Think you know everything about Season 17 of The Bachelorette? Think again. Katie Thurston spills more juicy details about what really went down. Keep reading for all the details.
Katie Thurston Reveals Truth Behind NSFW Toy She Gifted Matt James
Bachelor Nation first met Katie Thurston as a contestant on Season 25 of The Bachelor. On Night 1, she made a memorable first impression on Matt James and the viewers at home by gifting him a vibrator. The NSFW toy immediately made Thurston a name in the franchise, with many praising her for being unabashed about her sexuality.
The feedback was so positive that she was named Season 17 Bachelorette after striking out with Matt James. Her season ended in an engagement that ultimately didn’t last, and she’s been outspoken about her time with the franchise.
During a recent She’s All Bach podcast appearance, Katie Thurston spilled some more tea. For one, she revealed that it was production that came up with the idea for the NSFW toy. In fact, she said the show overnight shipped the package after they received approval from ABC. A thread on Reddit detailing Thurston’s podcast appearance claims that the network has to approve all “limo entrance gimmicks.”
If Blake Moynes Hadn’t Joined The Show, Who Would She Have Picked?
The eventual winner of Season 17 – Blake Moynes – wasn’t part of the original cast. He joined the show in Week 3. However, fans were really rooting for Thurston to end up with Greg Grippo, who quit the show in Week 7.
Another fan favorite, Michael Allio, also quit, leaving Justin Glaze and Blake Moynes as the final two. But what if Moynes had never joined the show mid-season? Thurston said on the podcast that her final two would have been Grippo and Allio, though she expressed doubt either relationship would have worked out.
According to the Reddit thread, there were relocation concerns between Thurston and Grippo.
Katie Thurston’s Thoughts On Long-Distance Relationships
Speaking of relocating, after getting engaged on The Bachelorette, Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes were living in separate countries. Moynes returned to Canada while Thurston stayed in the US. The two did their best to visit one another, but the coronavirus pandemic made it all the more difficult.
Unfortunately, their engagement ended after just six months, and on the podcast, Thurston said that the distance was part of what went wrong. She shared that she won’t consider long-distance relationships again after what it did to her relationship with Moynes.
Blake Moynes gives love another chance on Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise. Meanwhile, Katie Thurston is trying something different – she is on Season 3 of FBoy Island.
