Jenelle Evans and Amber Portwood were both on Teen Mom for years, and both of them had custody problems. After the recent reunion scenes, Jenelle praised Gary and Amber but used the opportunity to shade Barbara Evans. At least, that’s how MTV fans took it.
Jenelle Evans Comments On Amber Portwood
Amber’s been having a lot of issues with Andrew Glennon over custody of their son, James. Actually, Teen Mom: The Next Chapter covered the story. It has been an emotionally difficult time for Amber. MTV fans know that Amber was also with Gary Shirley and fans like that they made an effort with Leah. In the Reunion on October 11, Leah, 14, spoke about Amber, her dad, Gary Shirley, and his wife, Kristina. In fact, she praised their parenting, and Amber cried with joy.
Jenelle Evans faces many battles with custody issues as well. However, her son, Jace is reportedly not shouting out the praises of his mom or David Eason. Apparently, after he accused David of assaulting him, Jace was awarded back into the custody of Barbara who raised him. Her daughter cried with joy when she finally got custody of Jace, but his multiple runaway attempts ended up with her involved with CPS again. During all of this, Jace’s mom praised Amber and Gary while also seeming to diss Barabara’s parenting.

Teen Mom Alum Jenelle Evans Shades Barbara
Reddit carried a screenshot of Jace’s mom who talked about how great a job Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley did at raising Leah. In part, she wrote, “Its really great when the other parent, for example, Gary, gives Leah the support she needs but he also explains to Leah that her mother is trying to do her best. In return, you have a loving daughter that loves you even at your worst faults.”
Next, Jenelle Evans talked about how someone “manipulated” a kid and “filled their heads with bad thoughts constantly to this day.” Next, she claimed that it’s a “competition” over who is the “better parent.” Additionally, she claimed that it’s better to “BOTH raises (sic) the child with the correct morals and values so the child becomes the best person they could be.”

The OP wrote, “Jenelle throwing shade at Barb.” Most people in the comments agreed that it really seemed that Jenelle Evans had done that.
Another commenter wrote, “Jace is older now and I’m sure wiser than his age. His feelings and thoughts are his feelings and thoughts. Regardless of what Barb says … So STOP trying to point the finger and start by looking in the mirror girl.”
Here’s another comment: “I know she’s blaming Barbara but it sounds like what she’s been doing all along to all the kids. Jace is old enough and so is Maryssa to see exactly how their parents are doing.”
