Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer rescued choking colleague
Jesse Palmer once rescued a choking colleague by performing the Heimlich maneuver. US Weekly shared what Jesse had to say. He said, “I once saved my colleague’s life using the Heimlich maneuver during the broadcast of a football game.”
The ordeal happened in 2013. The former professional football player came to ESPN broadcaster Chris Fowler’s rescue during the Pinstripe Bowl at New York City’s Yankee Stadium. At the time Fowler thanked Jesse for his heroic actions. He tweeted, “Never before needed a Heimlich at halftime. (Or any time)! thanks Jesse Palmer! He saved me from death by dry chicken sandwich. Really.”
Fowler concluded, “Not bad to have quick thinking, ex-NFL player around when Heimlich needed. I’ll take bruised ribs to avoid choking!”
Jesse also shared other less heroic things many probably don’t know about him.
What else has Jesse shared?
Jesse shared other little-known facts about his life including how he met his wife. He said, “I met my wife, Emely, at Rumble Boxing in NYC. Watching her punch the bag was both a turn-on and totally frightening.”
He also revealed that he was an almost 11-pound baby at birth. Along with that when he was a child an orangutang at the zoo tried to steal him from his mother.
Jesse also revealed other fun facts including that his parents named him and his brothers after famous cowboys. His full name is Jesse James Palmer.
Obviously, Jesse loves football and shared that his best gift was receiving a football helmet for Christmas when he was seven. Plus, he had over 14 posters of NFL quarterback posters on his walls and ceiling as a kid.
Another fun Jesse Palmer fact is that he had his biggest accomplishment when he was eight years old. He said, “My proudest achievement is skiing down the black diamond “Cloud Spin” trail at Whiteface Mountain in New York when I was 8. I fell 59 times and ripped my ski jacket on a tree.”
