New ’20/20′ Explores The Mysterious Murder Of Jamie Faith
A new episode of 20/20 airing Friday, September 29 will dive into the mysterious murder of American Airlines director Jamie Faith. The October 2020 murder sent the entire community reeling. Now, after an intense investigation, authorities believe they finally know what happened.

’20/20′ Investigates The Brutal Shooting
Jamie Faith was brutally shot to death in his neighborhood one morning in October 2020. He had just set out on his daily walk with his wife, Jennifer, when an unknown person ran up and shot him seven times.

The suspect then duct-taped Jennifer’s hands and attempted to steal her rings. They then ran to a black pickup truck and fled from the scene. Footage from neighbors’ doorbell cameras showed many people running out to see what the commotion was.
“I walked to the end of my walkway, and I saw what looked like feet and a body laying in a street,” said Emery Wilson, one of the neighbors of the Faiths. Wilson then spotted the gunman and ran back inside to get his own firearm before proceeding out into the street.
Due to the nature of the crime, investigators believed that there had to have been a personal motive behind the killing. They did not think it was a random murder or robbery. However, Jamie Faith’s community couldn’t understand who would have the motive to kill someone who was loved by many.
A Mysterious Case With Many Twists And Turns
An investigation was swiftly opened, and while detectives started to look for clues as to what happened, the Faith’s community set up a GoFundMe for Jennifer. They raised more than $60,000 for the grieving widow. Many people also took turns bringing over meals for her and her daughter, Amber.
A couple of months following Jamie’s death, Jennifer attended a press conference where she pleaded for people to look out for the black pickup truck that fled from the scene. The entire time, Jennifer maintained that she had no idea who could have killed her husband, but that was far from the truth.

“I have not been involved in a case that had more twists and turns than this particular case,” federal prosecutor Rick Calvert stated in an interview. Eventually, investigators uncovered text messages that made it clear that Jennifer not only knew who killed her husband, but she may have even set it up.
In January 2021, authorities arrested Darrin Lopez. To the surprise of many people, Lopez was actually Jennifer’s high school sweetheart. The pair had even attended prom together. They reconnected during the pandemic and exchanged 500 or more texts and emails each day.
At some point, their conversations started to escalate into discussing a possible future with each other. Unfortunately for Jamie Faith, their conversations ultimately led to his death.
The 20/20 episode will feature interviews with authorities, journalists, and friends of the Faith family. It will air at 9 p.m. EST on Friday, September 29 on ABC.
