This has been a whirlwind several months for Robin Roberts. She was planning her nuptials to her longtime partner, Amber Laign. The two had been together for nearly two decades so they took the viewers along on their journey down the aisle. Roberts and Laign showed themselves trying on dresses and even took Instagram followers to the courthouse. It was extremely memorable but because of this, it meant that Robin would be away from GMA quite a bit. They tied the knot in early September and then headed off on their honeymoon. Robin returned for almost a whole week before she was mysteriously absent again.

Now, according to The Sun, Robin Roberts has taken more time off for a bigger gig that she is extremely proud of. She had done a 20/20 special with actress and author, Kerry Washington. It can now be streamed on Hulu and Roberts is so immensely proud to have been a part of it. Linsey Davis sat alongside Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos while Roberts was away but she took to her Instagram to share details from her interview. Kerry’s prepping to release Thicker Than Water, her memoir, so this moment with Robin came at the best time.

There was a series of slides of Kerry Washington that culminated with a photo of the two women side by side. The interview between Robin Roberts and Kerry Washington received so many accolades. Followers said that it was “extraordinary” and they loved the whole conversation. More so, they applauded Kerry for being so strong. It looks like this may be something that Robin might be able to easily transition to as she did an incredible job. Plus, it made fans even more eager to read Kerry’s book.
