Former Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans took her mother Barbara Evans to court on Thursday. The two have been involved in court battles for many years. This latest one saw Jenelle wanting a restraining order against her mother. However, when the court hearing ended on Thursday, Jenelle left the courthouse angry.

Here is a look at how the court case went down and why the Teen Mom star was upset.

Jenelle Evans wants restraining order against mother Barbara

Jenelle Evans asked for a protective order against her estranged mother Barbara, 70, to keep her away from her and her children. Jenelle asked for the restraining order because she said Barbara puts her and her kids in “danger of serious and immediate injury.” Jenelle said that Barbara spoke to media outlets about her and her son Jace. The former Teen Mom star said this caused “emotional distress.”

The mother and daughter ended up meeting in a Brunswick County, North Carolina, courtroom to speak with a judge about the protective order. However, what happened was that Jenelle showed up alone and demanded the protective order be in place. However, Barbara showed up with a well-known family law attorney. This caused Jenelle to remain at a disadvantage. While she believes she is in the right, she has no one to represent her.

According to The Ashley, Barbara and Jenelle did not talk to each other and neither communicated with the other at all. Instead, Jenelle gave her side of the story to the judge. Then, Barbara’s attorney represented her side. A court source said the situation seemed very tense. Barbara’s attorney asked the judge to continue the case.

Jenelle Evans angry at outcome of court case

It seems that Barbara retaining an attorney worked out well in this situation. When the attorney asked the judge to continue the case, the judge granted the request. The court source said that Jenelle was “pissed” and she wanted the hearing to take place that day. When the judge sided with Barbara, Jenelle was reportedly “mad” at the entire situation. The source said it was over with quickly and Jenelle didn’t get what she wanted.

The case will continue on September 28 when Jenelle Evans and Barbara will meet in court again. The judge ordered Jenelle to present evidence that shows she needs the protective order. The judge already denied Jenelle’s request to have the protective order delivered in an emergency rush, known as ex parte. Jenelle will have to present evidence that Barbara poses a real threat to her and the kids. So far, Jenelle just said she was mad that Barbara spoke to TMZ and called her names in text messages. Jenelle Evans is also mad that Barbara has spoken to their old Teen Mom 2 producer Larry Musnik.
