Has Tina Arnold of TLC’s 1000-Lb. Best Friends buckled under the pressure and heavy criticism of fans? Did she make her social media profiles private so she could hide from the criticism? One confused fan of the TLC series took to Reddit asking what was going on with Tina’s Facebook account.
Tina Arnold Begs For Money, Makes Social Media Private?
In a new thread on Reddit, one fan of TLC’s 1000-Lb. Best Friends asks if anyone knows what happened to Tina’s Facebook account. The OP proceeded to question if Tina set her account to private after begging for cash wasn’t as well-received as she thought it would be.
Turns out, Tina’s account is still public and active. Fans collectively decided she likely blocked the OP.

One fan popped into the comments of the thread on Reddit and clarified that Tina was still very active on Facebook. In fact, she had just recently made a post trying to hit people up for cash.
In Tina’s post, she explained it was Mary’s 18th birthday. And, she hoped she could get some people to send $18 to her via Cash App. She wanted to surprise Mary with the money. Now, Tina made it a point to clarify she had a lot of friends and family members on her Facebook page. So, she was not trying to encourage fans of 1000-Lb. Sisters to send her money. She, however, was using her profile to reach out to any loved ones who wanted to help make Mary’s day special.
“So, knowing I will ABSOLUTELY be called a SCAMMER again and again and dragged through the mud and have a thousand new lies spread across the internet about me and how I’m taking the money from soon to be widows and peoples children’s mouths…”
She penned at the end of her post, doubling down on the fact that she was not trying to scam anyone: “AGAIN! DISCLAIMER!!! NO ONE IS REQUIRED TO SEND A SINGLE PENNY. BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO, I APPRECIATE THE GESTURE OF KINDNESS SHOWN TO MY BABY… Who is not really a baby anymore.”

She Knew The “Monsters” Would Come For Her
The TLC personality was well aware of the attention her Facebook post would receive — especially from “the gremlins of Reddit.” In fact, she waved at the individuals on Reddit within her post. Tina also shared that she hid this particular post from Mary. She hoped to surprise her with whatever money she received. She, however, recognized that the “monsters” lurking on her page would likely spoil the surprise.
