Many family members are keeping quiet online as Jill’s book reveals family secrets and makes headlines. But one of her brothers returned to social media to share a message that he felt was important. Jill’s book, Counting the Cost, hit shelves on Tuesday, September 12. In the book, she opens up about her upbringing, filming for TLC, and much more. Online, readers are reposting some of the bombshell revelations she’s made.
Prior to the book’s release, fans suspected that Jim Bob Duggar would ask some of his adult children to post on social media and attempt to deflect. After all, the book has exposed many family secrets, and Jim Bob is being heavily criticized by readers.
Surprisingly, many of the family members are keeping quiet. However, right before the book came out, Jessa Seewald announced her pregnancy, which fans found suspicious.

On his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, one day after Jill’s book came out, Jason Duggar shared a new post as he read his Bible. In the photo, you can see his heavily underlined and highlighted Bible, as well as his notes in the margins.
Then, over the photo, the 23-year-old wrote, “Fall in love with God’s word, take notes, highlight it, and always seek the Holy Spirit’s understanding before diving into the scriptures.”
Prior to sharing this, Jason hadn’t recently posted on social media. The most recent post on his main Instagram feed is from June 2022. He occasionally shares Instagram Stories like this one, however.

Noticeably, Jason’s post isn’t a statement about his sister’s book. He’s simply posting at the same time readers are learning all of these secrets about his family. His post could be a more cryptic post about his sister, but he didn’t tag her or explicitly say anything about “Jill’s book.” It’s unclear if he supports Jill or if he agrees more with his father.
Very few family members have spoken out about Jill’s book or shown support. Jinger Vuolo praised her sister’s bravery, while Deanna Duggar applauded her niece.
Jim Bob and Michelle have issued statements as well.
