Wells Adams shares how marriage influences the advice he gives BIP contestants as the resident beach bartender.

Wells Adams Returns For Season 9 Of Bachelor In Paradise

We’re just two weeks away from the premiere of Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise. The fan-favorite reality show is moving from Mondays to Thursdays as ABC shuffles its schedule due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

BIP will air for two hours on Thursdays after episodes of the first-ever season of The Golden Bachelor.

Season 9 will see the return of many familiar faces, including Rachel Recchia and Blake Moynes. Moynes’ ex-fiance, Katie Thurston, also makes an appearance on the beach. What about Demi Burnett?

Also returning is Bachelorette alum Wells Adams as the beach’s bartender/therapist. He’s been a regular on BIP since Season 3 when he was a contestant. Starting in Season 4, he’s acted as the show’s bartender, serving drinks with a side of advice.

He’s been off the market since 2017, when he started dating Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland. The two got engaged in 2019 but had to postpone the wedding due to the COVID pandemic.

How Marriage To Sarah Hyland Influences Advice

Sarah Hyland finally made an honest man out of Wells Adams in August 2022. They recently celebrated their first anniversary, and Wells thinks of himself as something of a relationship guru.

He spoke at length to Entertainment Tonight about how marriage changed his perspective and influenced the advice he gives contestants in Season 9.

According to Adams, it’s easier for him to spot what’s working for couples on the beach and what are red flags.

He also shared general advice for those returning to BIP for the third or fourth time. The Best In Dough host advised that perhaps those contestants should reconsider what they think they’re looking for.

Wells Adams went on to say that he’s been most surprised by couples he never thought would get together.

He also touted Bachelor In Paradise‘s success rate compared to other shows in the franchise. He mentioned Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt as an example. They recently had a second wedding after initially marrying in a courthouse earlier this year. Wells Adams officiated the pair’s second ceremony.

Do you agree with Wells Adams that repeat contestants need to think outside the box when it comes to their ideal match?

Don’t miss the premieres of Bachelor In Paradise and The Golden Bachelor on Thursday, September 28, on ABC. Both shows will stream on Hulu the next day.
