Rita Ora is set to become the first new judge in The Masked Singer history when Season 11 premieres in 2024.

In a judge shake-up that’ll be sure to catch some fans off-guard, Rita Ora has been chosen as a brand-new judge for Season 11. Ora will fill in for Nicole Scherzinger, who will be traveling to London’s West End, where she will be starring in a theater production of Sunset Boulevard. Ora will join Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Robin Thicke on the judge’s panel for the entirety of Season 11. Since The Masked Singer‘s inception in 2019, Scherzinger, Jeong, McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Thicke have all appeared as the show’s only judges.

As for now, Season 10 promises to be the show’s biggest and wildest season yet. The Masked Singer will feature 16 celebrity singers in dazzling new costumes. In an added twist, the new season will see the return of celebrities who have been unmasked in previous seasons. The show will also include a brand-new format this season as well. Three groups of singers will be followed by Battle Royale-style episodes in the semi-finals. However, the judges will be able to choose to save one contestant from elimination.

What Is Rita Ora Best Known For?

Originally born in Pristina, SFR Yugoslavia, Rita Ora’s parents moved to London shortly after her birth. After working her way into the music industry, Ora first made a splash in February 2012. Ora was featured on English producer DJ Fresh’s single “Hot Right Now,” which became a number-one hit in the UK. Ora is also known for her UK chart-topping hit songs including “R.I.P.” and “How We Do (Party).”

The Masked Singer fans should rest easy knowing that Scherzinger’s seat will be in good hands. The British pop singer is no stranger when it comes to reality competition shows. Ora has starred as a judge on shows such as The X Factor UK, The Voice Australia, and The Masked Singer UK.

Is The Masked Singer Judge Shake-Up Permanent?

Scherzinger will be heading to London to star in the revival of Sunset Boulevard. The former member of The Pussycat Dolls will star as Norma Desmond in the production. The show is slated to debut later this month at London’s Savoy Theatre. While Scherzinger is confirmed to miss all of Season 11, there is no word if her time away will continue beyond that. But there is a good chance that she’ll be back on the judge’s panel in time for Season 12 in 2024.

Despite her future departure, Season 10 of The Masked Singer will feature Scherzinger in her normal role throughout its run. On Sunday’s preview episode, Scherzinger even showed off her pipes in a rendition of “Purple Rain” by Prince.

What’s your reaction to Rita Ora replacing Nicole Scherzinger? Do you think she’ll be a good judge on the show? Will The Masked Singer just not be the same with this judge shake-up? Let us know exactly how you feel down below in the comments section.
