Kourtney Kardashian Opens Up About Pregnancy Weeks After Family Emergency
Kourtney Kardashian took to Instagram recently, calling pregnancy “empowering” following her scary trip to the hospital where doctors had to perform surgery on her and Travis Barker’s unborn baby.

In the photos, Kourtney, 44, proudly displayed her baby bump with the caption, “Pregnancy is so empowering.”
The Kardashians’ star dressed in an all-black with sleek leather pants, a matching jacket over a bra and lace top, and lace gloves. It didn’t take long for her stepdaughter, Alabama Luella Barker, to leave a comment that read, “Hot mama!”
This post celebrating her pregnancy comes after a recent scare, as Kourtney had to undergo urgent fetal surgery earlier in the month. Her husband, Travis Barker, took a quick leave from his Blink-182 European tour to be by her side during their family emergency.
‘The Kardashians’ star is grateful following health scare
After her hospital stay, Kourtney posted on Instagram a message of gratitude.
Under a black and white photo of her and Travis holding hands, the reality star posted, “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”

Kourtney reflected on her previous pregnancies, which had all been smooth without any major medical issues.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are adding to their blended family
Back in June, Kourtney made this pregnancy public knowledge with an announcement at one of Travis’s shows. During the concert, she held up a sign that read, “Travis I’m Pregnant,” a nod to Blink-182’s iconic “All the Small Things” music video.
Kourtney and Travis bring children from previous relationships to their blended family. The reality star shares three children, sons Reign Aston, 8, and Mason Dash, 13, and daughter Penelope Scotland, 11, with her ex-partner Scott Disick. Travis has a son, Landon, 19, the aforementioned daughter, Alabama,17, and a stepdaughter Atiana, 24, from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler.

Travis has also expressed his gratitude for the health of their unborn son, as well as his gratitude to his fans for their understanding of his momentary absence from the tour.
